Kate Walther – Oak Trace Elementary School (OTES)

“Working with Mrs. Kate Walther is my favorite time of the day.  My students ask, “When is writing with you and Mrs. Walther?”    Kate has a positive impact on teachers and students through her voice, craft, collaboration, preparation, and innovation.  She inspires me to think outside of the box about what kids need. I appreciate that Kate always looks at each child as if he or she was her own.  Mrs. Walther is a leader at our school and I don’t know what I’d do without her collaboration!”

MEET YOUR COACH:

I graduated from Butler University in 2002 and then went on to earn a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration in 2008.  My teaching career began in Avon where I taught 1st grade before moving to Westfield in 2004. Oak Trace has been my home for the past 16 years, teaching 2nd grade for 8 years, kindergarten for 5 years, and now in year 4 as Instructional Coach. My husband, Neal, and I live in Westfield with our four children and this year we have kids attending 3 Westfield schools!

WHY I LOVE COACHING:

One of the best & most important parts of my role as Instructional Coach is being able to work side by side with teachers to help our students grow!I LOVE that my days are filled with opportunities to support teachers and students reach their goals.
