Scholarship and Avenue of Flags Application - Kiwanis Club of Westfield

Have you ever wondered who is behind the Avenue of Flags proudly displayed during Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Memorial Day? The Avenue of Flags is a patriotic community service program and fundraiser for our local Westfield Kiwanis Club. Members of Kiwanis will place a 3' by 5' American Flag on a 10' pole along the curb of participating residences during the five patriotic holidays.

Proceeds from the fundraiser support youth scholarships, Riley Hospital for Children, various local organizations, and other needs for the community.

What is the Cost? The annual cost to participate is $50.

Tell me more about the Kiwanis Club...

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream and succeed, great things will happen!

Currently, 320 participate in the Avenue of Flags fundraiser with the goal to reach 400. The first holiday is Memorial Day. They have 13 routes through Westfield that takes two volunteers each to place and pick up. If this interests you reach out to the Kiwanis Club they welcome volunteers and new members!

All proceeds stay right here in Westfield to benefit the lives of children in our community.

These funds have allowed for the Kiwanis Club to provide funding to:

  1. Westfield Youth Assistance Program

  2. Student Impact

  3. Riley Children's Hospital

In addition the Kiwanis Club...

  1. Provided Seven scholarships to Westfield high school students

  2. Sent a high school boy to Hoosier State

  3. Sent Key club members to the Kiwanis Key club district leadership conference

  4. Helped finance the purchase of an adaptive bike from Riley for a Westfield child

  5. Planted trees along the Monon

  6. Will be completing a Westfield Library beautification project in April and May.
